Vicki, thank you for this. Whether it’s writing, photography, or another art form, we’re not in a horse race. I like what you wrote at the end: “God only holds us accountable for the talents, gifts, and opportunities He’s given us personally. We needn’t compare our calling to that of another writer. ” This is a competitive world, but as Christians, our self-esteem comes from the Lord. He’s our Potter, and the One who knows us best. He put us together uniquely, and so there’s no way we could possibly compare ourselves with others. That’s the wonderful thing about knowing Him personally.

I just wrote on God’s callings the other day and how they affect our lives - especially if His callings are on someone close to us. Interesting that we would both touch on this subject…
