“One may have a blazing hearth in one’s soul and yet no one ever come to sit by it. Passersby see only a wisp of smoke from the chimney and continue on the way.” ~ Vincent van Gogh
Had I lived in Van Gogh’s time, I would have loved to share a cup of coffee, admire his paintings, and talk about life. This man knew the pain of a “blazing hearth in one’s soul” with no one to take notice. Even now, as I come to terms with his passion, he is long gone.
We live. We write. We wonder.
Does anyone notice? Does anyone care? Will anyone understand?
There is One.

This is a beautiful comment that you have placed underneath Mr. Van Gogh’s quote.
I am one who struggles to admit she is a writer, though I love to write my heart, God’s heart within me.
I have people telling me I am a gifted writer and still I struggle to embrace the words. I struggled all through school and was so happy to see a high school diploma. I didn’t learn like they taught in the public schools during the 60’s-70’s. Being a visual, hands on person, I just didn’t do well with auditory. It’s so hard to believe that people enjoy what I write.
For a while I have struggled to step up and write. But recently God has been calling me back into it. I realize it’s not Me, it’s HIM in me. I can acknowledge that He is filling me up to the full and oozing out of me in my writing…that’s what my heart desires most.
Now I have been asked to join a devotional blog team. I am floored….and honored. That God would allow me to write words and pictures to tell women about Him is one of the greatest gifts He could give to me.
Thank you for your words…you have inspired me.
Blessings,
Julie
