“God hides himself in creation. Unbelievers seldom see him in it, but believers are given eyes to see, so they can glorify God through it. ~ Bill Walsh
This quote from a John Piper message moved me late this evening:
God means for us to be stunned and awed by his work of creation. But not for its own sake. He means for us always to look at his creation and say: If the work of his hands is so full of wisdom and power and grandeur and majesty and beauty, what must this God be like in himself!
These are but the backside of his glory seen through a glass darkly. What will it be to see the Creator himself! Not his works! Not even a billion galaxies will satisfy the human soul. God and God alone is the soul’s end.

This past Fall, I got to drive N. T. Wright to the airport. During that time (a 2 hour drive) he talked about nature worship as a kind of admirable mistake for lost people to make. It’s misdirected worship to be sure, but it’s at least headed in the right direction.
Which reminds me. C. S. Lewis was a theist before he was a Christian.
Interesting videos about church lies over on your facebook!

Mark, nice to have you visit. Did you attend a conference where N.T. Wright was speaking? Yep, nature worship is definitely misdirected - unless by stages, the lost person comes to know his Creator through Christ Jesus finally.
C. S. Lewis’s conversion was gradual over time, sort of two-part stages, from what I understand:-)
Thanks for visiting, Mark, and checking out my FB page.
