Have you done anything this week to nourish your creativity? Is your muse in hiding? Sometimes all we need to do is shift gears, a little bit, or a lot.

These activities refresh me:

* a trip to the farmer’s market
* 15 quick minutes on the treadmill
* time out for iced tea, feet up, with my writer’s magazine
* planting, watering, and picking flowers
* having my granddaughters over to play
* a visit to the toy store
* a bookstore run, cappucino, & some daydreaming
* working on the family scrapbook; capturing memories
* visiting a museum
* rearranging my work space
* having “tea” with the girls
* relaxing with a friend at a local cafe
* brainstorming in the park with a journal
* enjoying the sights and sounds of a festival or craft show
* listening to some Mozart, Pachelbel, or Beethoven
* a weekend drive to the mountains
* sightseeing around Atlanta with my digital camera
* reading about a new artist
* adding to my quote collection
* an inspiring movie
* shopping for office supplies
* soaking in God’s Word & marking special passages

What activities refresh you?

    Hi there. I came over through Good Word Editing.

    Activities that refresh me…

    - green tea on the porch, with my eyes closed, listening to crickets and acrobat squirrels
    - reading unusual things (right now, a book about the brain)
    - combing my girls’ hair
    - eating a chocolate (also with eyes closed) and letting it melt into every corner of my consciousness

    Stuff like that.

    Hi Vicki…great list.I found myself nodding my head in agreement as your list and mine are similar…I would add coloring with my granddaughter,organizing and clearing a space,a room of clutter,baking cookies(which I just did),or even just sitting and,if possible,listening to the silence(not in a New Age,Desert Fathers kind of way.Just letting the sounds of nothing but God’s creation(birds,water lapping a shore line,etc.)work His peace way down deep.I find too much technology can weary me and make me glassy eyed and longing for this quiet place…Bless you~Sharon

    Your list is refreshing. Some things on mine would be to take a walk in the woods surrounding our home, a bubble bath, a trip to a favorite flea market, a chapter of a good book, sipping tea by candlelight, snapping pictures of sunrise or sunset. I usually have to try and gear down so most of my list is on the soothing side of life.
