“There is more to life than increasing its speed.” ~ Gandhi

Eventually, the heart of every writer runs dry.

Stress and overload can pummel us emotionally. Working in isolation is tough enough, but a hectic schedule, neglected relationships, and technological saturation causes downright weariness at times. What can we do?

It helps to realize we’re emotionally depleted. Common sense tells us to pull back and replenish. Wisdom says something needs to change! Waking every single day with an empty tank spells trouble for the most earnest writer. How does one write when feeling so utterly drained?

Unfortunately, many folks are trapped in a web of inner pain and loneliness caused by overload and lack of support. When pushed to our limit, a meltdown is inevitable. Frazzled nerves, anxiety, and even dark depression may visit, but none of these have to stay.

Yearn for relief? Stay tuned tomorrow for ways to recognize “emotional leeches.”
