“Dreaming about a thing in order to do it properly is right; but dreaming about it when we should be doing it is wrong.” ~ Oswald Chambers

“There is an eagle in me that wants to soar, and there is a hippopotamus in me that wants to wallow in the mud.” ~ Carl Sandburg

“Living your calling is possible only if you are willing to hear God’s summons and respond in spite of perceived risk.” ~ Kevin & Kay Brennfleck

“For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.” ~ Philippians 2:13

How do we overcome inertia? The God who calls us is trustworthy, so it’s good to remember that whatever He calls us to do, the Holy Spirit enables. But first we respond, even with baby steps, and move in His direction. Faith is the vehicle; grace is the fuel.

Thank you for your timely encouragement. Feeling like a hippo. Don’t think they ever grow wings!! God Bless you for using the gift HE has given to you. <

Hippo’s strange as it sounds are doing exactly what God designed them to do as well………oh dear ……. and to think we use muck for facials and body scrubs… we are an odd lot aren’t we? But we also do not have wings to fly or most of us would be somewhere else.
Just my strange tumbling’s of thought on a hot summer day as I sit in front of my screen wondering what am I trying to write…

These are all great quotes; I especially like the one about the hippos wallowing in the mud. It made me smile as I attempt to soar with my words and prayers.

I recently read that the word call’s Greek meaning translated means summons.

I love your blog-it is so encouraging!
