“I really think that cleaning up in between projects is a great way to also clean the palette; so to speak. It helps to organize your thoughts and focus on what you are doing next.” ~ Joanna Figueroa, fabric designer, featured in Where Women Create
Worked on my creative space this week. Mr. G. put together another tabletop area for me to spread my beads. Designing jewelry is such fun when I’m not writing! I also save old Mary Englebreit calendars. Framed a few of her prints from the calendars this week to hang in a collage in the corner. Her art inspires and delights me!
What does your workspace look like? Does it inspire you? It should! Found a magazine to help with that:
Enjoy!

I appreciate so much all the quotes and encouragement you put on my site. I’ve been working on my studio lately. My daughter and I each have one that sometimes collide. But I’m learning to discard and file stuff better to keep things from not getting so clutterd. I love being able to walk away from projects and not have to put things away so that I can walk back at any moment.

Deborah, hi! Thanks for visiting here - love hearing from you. My cluttered room had finally gotten the best of me…it’s just not conducive to creativity, for me anyway. I will take a lesson from you in learning to discard and file stuff:-) ♥

Hi Vicki!
I just set up and decorated my writing office/activity room. It is filled with things that inspire me - turquoise and browns, loads of butterflies, shadow box that I created, a fountain filled with gemstones I’ve collected, 2 loaded bookshelves, it even has smells that inspire me - vanilla and spice, and I’m working on creating a crafty storyboard/bulletin board for inspiration.

Carla, that sounds wonderful! One’s room should definitely be filled with things that inspire. You just gave me an idea…I’ll add potpourri! Hung some pictures this morning, but I like the idea of your shadowbox, too! Blessings!
