Some days you feel like a writer; some days you don’t. When discouraged, a good quote can lend perspective and bring back a smile:
“I am a bear of very little brain, and long words bother me.” ~ Winnie the Pooh, character created by author A. A. Milne
“Literature is strewn with the wreckage of those who have minded beyond reason the opinion of others.” ~ Virginia Woolf
“There’s many a bestseller that could have been prevented by a good teacher.” ~ Flannery O’Connor
“Why don’t you write books people can read?”~ Nora Joyce, to her husband James
“If we compare ourselves with others, we will become either proud or discouraged—and neither is from God.” ~ Kent Crockett

(((hugs)))
Love the quotes, so glad you came back …
Have you read Anne of Green Gables? I love Gilbert’s line to Anne ” Why do you write with such High falutting words that no one understands, write what you know…”
That quote is from a some what addled brain so it is not perfectly accurate, I think it came from Anne of the Island. Great series of books, by Lucy Maude Montgomery, tormented write if ever there was one. A century ago she would go to our Family Homestead and visit with the girls that lived there (my husbands’ great Aunts), it was interesting to know where my children slept she had often slept as well.
Hoping the sun shines brightly for you no matter what today.
Huggs
Hi Denise…hugs back!
Iris, I’m back, but just barely. I think I did read some Anne of Green Gables years and years ago:-) Was Lucy Maude Montgomery
also an artist? I might be mixing her name up with another. How interesting that your husband’s great aunts slept where she often stayed as well!
L.M. Montgomery was a famous Canadian writer although her publisher was in New York. Her Anne series has been translated into 15 different languages and people from all over the world come to our wee Island in the Atlantic to visit her home down in New London. She was a School Teacher in Summerside for part of her late teen years and while here she and my husbands family grew to be great friends. Thus the sleeping in the same place connection.
When I was in grade school reading Anne of Green Gables was manditory reading grade 6. I loved her Emily of New Moon series almost more than the whole Anne Series, but they are well written good reads.
Still sending jai-nourmus (new word)huggs your way.
You always make me smile. Blessings, Vicki!
